Parking Sensors
Hi,
The Parking Sensors on my D3 give of a long single beep error warning when I start the vehicle and the dashboard switch gently flashes fro the rest of the journey. The Parking Sensors DON'T work when I place the vehicle in reverse etc...
The Dealers (Stratstone Bury) insisted that they had to remove the bumpers (Front and Rear) in order to test the sensors to determine the problem. This they would have done under warrant except for the fact that I have a bull bar on the front and fixed tow bar on the back - they therefore wanted the labour cost to remove these items. I did bite the bullet the other week and said yes to this, but then they ran out of time on the day they had the vehicle so the work wasn't undertaken.
However, I have made a discovery.......
When I have both the Front and Rear FOG lights on, the Parking Sensors WORK....!!!!
Strange as it may seem, soon as I put the Front and Rear Fog lights on (doesn't do it for just the Front Fog lights) the dashboard switch stops flashing, and when I place the vehicle in reverse etc the sensors ping as expected.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong and how these can be fixed?
Thanks LJ
P.S. bit of a pain having to turn on the headlights and fog lights to park the D3 Coffeecup

My sensors have always gone off spuriously in the wet especially and strangely when a motorbike passes. I am starting to think that this is caused by reflections from water or from bike chrome. If you have chrome bullbar maybe this is a contributing factor????!!!!Near enough 40 degrees South!!!
