Parking sensor issues - Help needed

over the last 24 hours, the car seems to have gone from fully functional sensors to
1. rears sounding constantly the moment the sensors become active
2. fronts go from nothing to constant (at about the right distance from an object) with no build-up.

Any ideas ?

My only thoughts (principally because it's dark and piddling it down outside) is that the battery is heading into the 3rd winter where I'm thinking it will need replacing, so could that be a factor ?

Could water have damaged one? One of mine plays up in heavy rain conditions

I have the same trouble. Last time this happened I put in reverse and listened to each sensor, you should hear it clicking. Depending on which one you may get away without removing the bumper

wasn't cold enough to be frozen.

I had to go out in it last night and problem wasn't there when I set off (car had been stood on drive for about 3 hours), but after a 10 minute trip with a 30 second stop to let passenger out, got home and it's playing up again.

this, I think, disproves battery idea as it would be lowest volts when I set off.

wasn't raining but roads were wet and puddles were small .... not like the "water over top of car" ones I hit at speed earlier in the day.

quick run out whilst it wasn't raining and ... all seems to be ok again.

must have been water related ? will keep an eye (or rather "ear" ) on it.

ta for suggestions.
