The Landrover Experience instructor told me to use it if ever I needed to do an emergency stop. Hasn't happened yet.

Another bit of fun is to tap the cruise control off then re-engage it at speed..................... that flashes the brake lights!

Why does it do that?? Confused

No idea Discodad................... my FFRR did it too and so did the Freelander I ran before that.

I suppose it must be to warn drivers behind that you are slowing down if you are returning to a pre-set slower speed on the cruise. It doesn't actually brake though does it?

I haven't noticed it activating the brakes.

I rarely use the park brake, unless on steep slopes, as all the threads on here have scared me off using it in case it goes horribly wrong! Wink

I always use it.

The bit I didn't know was the one regarding the "Park Position". Thanks for the advice!

However, IMHO Park brake should be automatic. i.e.: when you switch off the engine, should be self-engaging.

It only sounds horrible, its never failed to release after a restart. Thats why I have not bothered to get it fixed.

Maybe I am too easy going. I know there are some who would give themselves an ulcer worrying about such things Wink But there is no need, its only a brake.

Mine doesn't. But it automatically releases the parking brake when the accelerator is pushed.
