I only got my D4 in the spring and so haven't used the parking heater yet. However, I had one on my old Touareg but it was the opposite to the D4 in that it had the remote fob and no timer function.

Although the VW had an AGM battery, the parking heater would quickly run the battery down - much more than half-an-hour and the car wouldn't start.

I take it that there is a battery voltage cutout if using the D4 with the timer but, if I upgrade to the remote control, will the battery saver still work?

Incidentally, how long will the parking heater run before the battery saver kicks in?

Resurrecting an old thread I know.
Park Heater, I can set the timer, it works fine, there are also two greyed out Buttons (on the top right of the screen) regarding to the Park Heater, I assume this is what Wiggs is referring to in his earlier post and needs activating so you can use it when parked Question

IIRC those buttons become active with engine/ ignition off and turn the touch screen on.

okkkkkkk, but the screen comes to life when I either start the engine or just put the ignition on, by pressing start with no foot on the brake Question
Is there another way of bringing the screen to life Question

Yes, turn on the radio (by pressing the on button) with the ignition turned off. Then the manual vent/manual heat buttons will light up.
