Panel Re-spray -- Good as factory finish? |
|
Had my rear door panel re-spayed at a LR approved bodyshop this week following a non fault prang in a car park. Was lucky to notice the damage shortly after it happened and successfully claimed of their insurance
Signed off the job as OK but now I'm not sure.
Been looking at it all day in the bright sunshine and couldn't help noticing the front door panel has a definite mirror like quality but the re-sprayed panel looks much duller although the colour is OK.
It's going back o the bodyshop next week to be re-polished, and hopefully there will be improvement
Any one else had a similar experience as not sure what to expect

Wouldn't expect it to be a dull finish. Is it just some lacquer overspray perhaps? Bodsys Brake Bible

wait to see if the polish does the trick, some times the laquer needs a buff up afterwards, if it is no better kick up a fuss as it's bad workmanship, however I'm sure the buff will do the trick

Good as new now - took it back to the bodyshop today and left it with them for a couple of hours while they buffed it up using a fine wet and dry
Don't try this at home folks
