i get a sense that Cains blue cars have an issue with paint coming off,
i have quite big patches coming off on the roof.
has anyone had this? and do you know the cause?
my plan as its just seems to be the roof affected, is rub it down to the undercoat, and respray satin black
which i think will work as it has the glass roof section,
what do you think? D3 HSE 2.7 TDV6 named Calvin with him stuffed Tiger Hobbes sat in the back

Guessing the lacquer is coming off ?

No it's the paint coming off.
I did a search on the site before posting and it didn't come up with those links.
Many thanks.

If you're intending spraying any colour you may as well use Cairns blue surely?
I had to have the front section of my roof sprayed, also Cairns blue. Mods:

I purchase an 07 D3, back in the day, which was silver and within a year I noticed a strip of paint, along the middle of the roof, bonnet and doors was mottled and patchy.
To cut a long story short, LR ended up respraying the car
I asked the LR rep, if this was a known issue? and he said, yep, There was an issue in the factory, the spraying robots where not meeting in the middle and spraying properly along the centre line of vehicles
It was not obvious to pick, as they use silver coloured primer, but in different shades of light It stood out like the proverbial.

Agree, you'll need deeper pockets.
Bonnet was ok on mine but roof was not good. Mods:

Is it worth looking for a wrap section on the roof? Not sure what would work with the blue other than a match, but it might be worth asking if you can find someone locally. Disco 3: Lotus Elise S1: Ferguson T20: Audi A2
