Paint worn through on wheel arch
Hi,
Where mud has gathered in the wheel arch on the door, it's rubbed the paint from the wheel arch...
What's the best advice for this? Is it steel or aluminium? It's tiny and out of sight and I'm not after a showroom finish.
I'm thinking rub down loose paint to metal. Prime and then fill with colour coded touch up pen - a couple of layers, then lacquer?
I'm kicking myself for not keeping this area cleaner and am hoping it's not the start of the "wheel arches", "rear floor plan", or "lower tailgate" white oxidising that plagued earlier Discoverys...
Anyone got any advice please - is it aluminium? Is it actually better to go to a bodyshop? My guess is that ChipsAway (from previous jobs) wouldn't survive the wear & tear.
The damnage is actually much smaller in real life!
Many thanks,

Looks a more aggressive cause than "mud". Maybe a car door in a car park? As it is down to the metal it will need to be fixed properly to avoid letting the worms in.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. Thanks for the reply. It's definitely not a carpark - it's the area behind the door, just behind where the plastic wheel arches on the door cover (so only seen when the door's open).2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +
