Hi Folks
I just wanted your opinions on upgrading spare panels and a grille to piano black.

I really like the black grill. If you can detango the headlights and cover it with some black vinyl it will look fantastic. It‘s a pity that you‘re not allowed to mess with the headlamps in Switzerland.
Glossy interior looks good but I prefer the functional farmer look

The interior looks factory spec...
if that is your taste... very neat... and even tasteful...
The grille however, looks rather euhhhh “somebody fitted a black grille on a blue motor” “ waiting to get is painted in the correct color” It is far out of line with the rest... Ugly to me, tbh...
You asked for opnions... Best regards
Harold

I, too, like the interior.
As for the black D3 grille - like Randy Jackson said “yeah that’s gonna be a no from me dawg” 8)
And cairns blue is, of course, the best color

I really like that gloss black interior. Dust magnet, but does bring it up to date nicely. Really fancy that for mine.
Not too keen on the exterior mods though I’m afraid.

Yeah - the standard grill is back on now. I couldn't get used to the black one

I agree that it looks better with default grill if you don‘t want to modify the headlamps.
But I like what Matzker did to this D3.
You can see where it‘s coming from 8)

The Disco looks awesome - is that what is meant by 'de-tangoing' it? If so, can you buy the black vinyl pre cut OR is it an easy enough job?

Detangoed means open headlamp case and having orange plastic pieces removed. Lots of youtube clips out there how to do it.
The Matzker D3 they only put some black vinyl decal inside lamp case. I think it‘s not allowed to detango in Germany._,,,_______///________

IMO The black grill would look better if you went down the full ‘black pack’ look.
e.g. black bonnet lettering, side vent & wheels etc.
And if you did that, I’d de-tango the lights.
The other alternative is to keep it exactly as it left the factory in its original, iconic D3 styling.
Btw, FYI here’s a modded D3 front end (with all bits from Powerful UK)

Leroys D3 is blue so „all black“ is no solution.
We‘re talking about styling possibilities and I like this Duotone look.
Personally for my D3 I would never change it to look like a D4. Factory is the only way 8)
If I can‘t resist the urge to swap something I‘ll swap the whole car to a D4 Black Edition
edit: @ronp: Sorry, I misinterpreted. You‘re totally right. „all black“ for the grill, wheels, side vent ect _,,,_______///________
