I take it the butterfly flap in the throttle body don’t work like a carb and opens slowly with the accelerator and is only there to shut a bit for the egrs to go through ?

Essentially yes. The butterfly has little function on throttle and as you say is more to do with egr function. It does this by forcing the engine to find vacuum at idle through the EGR pipes. Forget carbs and your petrol knowledge, this throttle is a virtual!

If I do a vehicle reset with the iid tool the fault p2263 comes
Up as soon as I pull away but after clearing the code will come up again then not after that unless I reset the vehicle again

If I reset the vehicle will the iid tool
When I pull away it comes up with p2263-22
I clear it it comes back I clear it again and It stays away and doesn’t come back for sometimes days /weeks on end
But as soon as I reset the vehicle comes on straight away with that code

Well some
New light
After speaking to Pete at bell autos I’m sending him my ecu to delete the egr valves and a patch for the 2263-22 code he thinks that the erg blank may have a bearing on this code without a ecu patch but will stop the code coming on anyway with a patch file

So, you haven't tried the car without repairing the EGR issue?

No mate stripped it all down but when I went to undo the two 8mm bolts holding the egr pipe to exhaust I got the impression they were going to snap off so gave up on that idea plus surely it’s better without the egrs anyway ?

From your previous posts I assumed you had already done this. Be certain you don't have a DPF if you're going the EGR delete route. Personally I would not do this on a D4.

Well ecu back from Pete at bas and all good no fault codes at all so unsure if it was because of blanked egrs or weather cause the code been stopped but he did say that the code would still lost as a fault in the faults but wouldn’t go into limp mode now but the code isn’t appearing at all now
