P0263 - Cylinder Number 1 Contribution/Balance Fault
Hi all
Got this code and my reader (icarsoft i980) and very rough idle and shaking with low power, with no other injector or cylinder related codes. Having looked on the forums and watched videos the fault almost certainly looks/sounds like the injector washer has failed. Now my code reader is saying it is cylinder 1 so which one is it? I can see a very fine mist of diesel on the injector on the drivers side at the rear, but want to be sure which one before removing the injectors
TIA
Andy

I wouldn't trust the code numbering, in any case a problem on 1 cylinder can throw up an imbalance on another cylinder.
I was thinking drivers side though
So follow your nose / soot / noise.
P.S the leak off pipe clips are very easy to loose!
So hold it very tight with your nn plyers and pretend you are playing operation.

Taking them out is the easy bit. It’s putting them back on I had the dreaded “ping” where they spring off and leave this dimension never to be seen again. cursed and tantrums galore. Had to order some off eBay. Dad casually looks over my shoulder as I’m trying to reinstall the new ones, old blankets everywhere to try and prevent another “ping, leave the galaxy” moments. He goes “tie a piece of cotton to it, they can’t go far then. Now why didn’t I think of that ? (Yeah because I’m a bit stoopid sometimes and jump into things) well it worked a treat. Just nip the cotton off after. Jarrod

It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Should be able to get a spanner on them to loosen them.
I think the threads are easy once loose
