Original battery spec?

Hello
Having some battery issues. It has struggled through the winter, with my wife’s very short commute of 2.5 miles! Special programs off flashed up nearly every start and several ctek. charges were required. Despite a round trip of 400 miles, in daylight, last week it was flat within a week.
I have read widely on here and checked for current draw through the alternator, there is none. So I think a new battery is required, the Exide EA1000 being favoured around here.
My question is that the one currently fitted has a 950 Amp max, higher than any on sale. Was this a Landrover upgrade?

 Simon.

Don't know about it being an upgrade but our 07 had the same as yours, had to change it for the same reasons.
I fitted a Halfords silver 5 year warranty one as I have a trade card and makes the price a bit more bearable Smile

A lot of people slag off the Exide on here. Doesn't seam to be worth the premium price.

I asked about the 950 CCA a month ago. (yes it was standard at the time)
As you say, no longer available. Could try a Citroen dealer if you wanted

I went for a 720 CCA I think. Not fitted it yet Rolling with laughter

Hi,

Im in the same situation. Just came back from some reconnaissance. My current one is the same spec, local trade centre only had an 019 (I forget the brand) that was 800A and 95ah, cheap at about £85 inc vat but the spec seems too low for a fussy Disco.

Halofords have the Silver Yusa HSB 019 which is 100AH 900A so much better number for £132 . I also have the magic trade card which makes it closer to £100 so thats what im looking to do tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies.
I popped into Halfords today and the Yusa looks like a good bet, a 5 year warranty might even see my ownership out. I didn't check the trade card discount, but if it brings the price down to near £100 then that's good enough for me.

Can't say I've ever seen one post slag off the Exide battery.

I have one and it's been fantastic for the past few years and a much improved upgrade on the Lion battery that was fitted by the selling garage. (88Ah, 680CCA)
