Opinions on front propshaft condition please! 😂
Hi all.
So I'm getting a significant vibration through the 'drivetrain' at certain speeds/revs.
Rear complete propshaft has already been fitted along with a gearbox flush and two bottles of Dr tranny.
Moving towards either front shaft or maybe both front Cv joints? Although I don't seem to get any noise/clicking etc when turning.. But there does seem to be some lateral/horizontal play in both sides.
Anyway here is a video of front prop.. Appreciate your wise opinion before I splash out even more cash! 🙈

Looks OK to me. It's supposed to move in both CV joints. Richard

See the rear prop is mentioned/pictured there..guessing the same applies to the front...?
To be honest i dont mind replacing the shaft IF it is the culprit......IF!
Thanks for input stew...Oh and remember i was telling you about the CEO at our port milking the place dry and that we are about to take industrial action?....Well guess who just resigned this morning?!!

The rotational 'free play' you're seeing is in the diff. I cant see any in the CV joint (although I can't feel it from here!)Richard

Probably not. (you are also seeing the compounded free play in both halfshafts, another 4 CV joints)Richard

Seems like a world away from our, very corporate, some may say 'privatized' port setup..even though there is a board look how its made up..oh and just for clarity...there is a link/history between all of the Executive and non-executive board members...

16 seconds thats fubared, the main prop section is moving before the cv/flange which tells me the cv or slider section is worn and cvs should have no rotational free play, a knatts cock in the slider isnt the end of the world, but if theres any lift in the slider again its dead.
If you grip both parts seperately and can feel any free play as I can see in the pic, its dead meat.
On the seriss and coiler models worn slider joints cause vibes on the over run
Might not cure your vibes though!

Checked mine last night no free play in the prop itself up or down or rotational, 2006 on 131k.
