Ken,

Where did you get the black wheels? Are they just stock ones painted.

On the recent Lakes event, when watching a few vehicles tackle a rocky obstacle that involved one and briefly 2 wheels lifting off the ground it was clear which D3 had the locking rear diff. On any D3 without it, the wheel that lifted off the ground would spin a bit, slowing the vehicle down, before the traction control kicked in. The only D3 with the locking diff just walked over the obstacle without any wheelspin. So, in some situations it could be the difference between not getting stuck and getting stuck. I'll certainly be getting it in my next D3.

I have a white/alpaca V6 without the rear locker. I had a fleet loaner V8 black on black for 6 weeks in July/August in one of the hotter SoCal years. It was not too bad. It was definitely hotter, but the air conditioning works great and quickly compensated.

James, based on my limited exposure to you on DWeb, I think you will want the rear locker. If you ever do a hill climb or rock obstacle, the rear locker makes a noticeable difference. I have driven them the back to back on the same trails with and without. The non-locker eqpuiped (mine) was still able to make all the trails, but the locker made it so much easier it was quite eye opening.

Do not be swayed whatsoever by the fog lights as part of any package. they are cosmetic at best. The HID's are even brighter than the aftermarket Off Road lights. They make all the other lights seem about as bright as turn signals Smile
