The Fox and Barrel is an excellent choice, but last time I went, they didn't open till 1200.

Chosen the Alvanley Arms, just around the corner - they open and start serving food from 11:30.

You're right the Pheasant is good. We had our Christmas 'do' there.

You know, maybe we should get a North West pub meet set up around here?

I'll 2nd that. I might have to leave my car in the car park and scam a lift if going off road though as I don't think I'll have the ground clearance for anything other than a driverway! Smile

Well at least not until 71 days time anyway!

I daresay that after a slice of Stinking Bishop followed by a yard of Abbot's Ale, some nuns may have very pluralistic tendencies....Can we have a UK D3 meet in a nice monastery with plenty of ground for off roading, liberally minded young free nuns, and a decent supply of rotten cheese and strong ale. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Fine by me...hands up for a NW pub meet, poss o/night at a decent inn, anywhere from the Lakes down to Cheshire/North Wales area. Encompassing decent grub/ale, off roading, walk to + from pub, bring dogs (I have a couple of springers) etc. Perhaps a Lakeland Country Open day Laughing Laughing
