one week on and 500 miles
Had my disco SE ( java black ) for 1 week now and i love it.I purchased it to use for work as im dumping the company car. This was original supposed to be in November but i got a good price if i took it before the end of September.I have used it a couple of times for work were i don't need too many tools (im in the process of making a sliding rear floor as its quite long and i can't reach in the back all the way ).Its been fantastic .
Ok , when i picked it up i was disgusted with the Valet they had done (told me they done it twice!!).The bonnet has swirl marks all over it .The rest of the car wasn't to bad but i did find 3 scratches on the paint and 2 on the wheel arches.I made them draw a diagram on the handover sheet to prove that they were there.
I took it home washed it properly and applied Diamond Brite to the car ...came up 100% better..even got one of the small scratches out.
Electrically wise everything has worked perfectly (fingers crossed).
I did have fun trying to store the lazy entry as it only seamed to work if i stored both keys to memory 1 (2 and 3 didn't work with lazy entry but were ok with just random settings) maybee i haven't read the manual properly.
Last night the top of the cooler box (lid) started squeeking when i rest my arm on it ...today its got worse and is bloody anoying..checked all screws etc but all seems ok.If anybody has had this problem it would be nice to know what was done to cure it.
Anyway its booked in Land Rover on Tuesday for the paint issues and i will tell them about the lid on the cooler box aswell.
So all in all its GREAT...Lets hope it stays that way as i will be doing a fair bit of milage when i start using it full time for work in November..(gives me time to find any teathing problems before hand)
Fuel consuption is showing around 26 round town and 29 on the motorway but thats the car and not my workings.
Lets hope they do a good job with the scratches on Tuesday

The squeak is probably from the catch. Mine did this and my dealer used some silicone grease / spray lube on it. OK since but still squeaks if you really lean on it after 2 yrs.
