2 years and 60,000 miles in a D3 HSE and I am still grinning. A few issues early on, and now just comfortable, reliable & enjoyable motoring.

Hi TC,

Its almost 12 months since I found this site and bought a D3. After 20 years of Land Rover ownership I expected a few issues. The worst so far was the auxiliary power socket not working. What I didn’t expect was the stunning performance of this car. My annual mileage is up by 4500 mile, its called joyriding! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

As for the Chrysler 300 C Touring? It’s a good looking car. I hired one in Florida last year and it was great. You can buy one in the States for £15k or less. What makes it £30k here?

No contest.

Just go for it TC.

I have owned five Discoverys over sixteen years; I have only once had to get assistance and that was because I flattened the battery by leaving the wipers running with the engine off.

I wouldn't drive anything else.

Cherokee not in same league as Disco. If you have had been driving a Voyager the disco will seem like heaven.
300c estate may be a different proposition, looks fantastic (on outside) I was very tempted but wife was having none of it & we really wanted the extra seats (main reason we got Disco 3).

Thank's to all of you who have taken the time to leave feed back.

As I have mentioned in my opening comment it was quite an "eye opener" to read all the posts on Disco issues.
Some of you have commented as to whether all the problem discussions are a bit heavy for a forum newb', having time to reflect, I for one (for what it's worth) would say don't change a thing !!

'cept the bits under warranty of course!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

It's now down to whether I want to lace "Gordons Coffers" Evil or Very Mad even further and join the brow-beaten ranks with all you pariah's.
Rolling Eyes

I let you know how I go!

Keep smiling!

I have taken my (LR3)D3 off the way beaten path and still drove 25miles back home after I caused an air suspension failure. Very Happy It was totally my fault as I was driving in SuperExtended mode full speed against some obstacles. I have a better appreciation for the solid build of the vehicle after having to drive it out of the middle of a forest with the rear suspension deflated. Shocked I took it in to the dealer the next day and the remedy was swift and payment was ZERO! Very Happy I have 2 other Jeeps and trust this vehicle to haul the family about without reservation. My praise and respect for Land Rover remain unshaken, this vehicle continues to serve my family well. You will be rewarded daily for choosing it! Smile

See my post about what happened here = http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic1546-135.html
