United Kingdom 2016 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 Graphite LE Auto Orkney GreyDiscovery 4

I too live near, and fear, the dreaded M6 with its Twisted Evil , but tales from afar of an M4 and an M25 would chill the marrow... Shocked

Lesser and nearer demons are the M62 and M60 - I have learnt to do battle with these and survive...

Interestingly yesterday they ran out of dedicated carparking spaces at the Trafford Centre, so they unilaterally annexed Wink a SIX junction stretch of the M60 for their additional parking purposes - around 8 miles of motorway, three/four lanes of clockwise stationary cars - around 7000 extra parking spaces by my calculations Shocked

In a word -YES
The RRS TDv8 tips the LR scales at a "lightweight" 3.1 tonnes or 0.4 tonnes more than a TDv6.................... and I can vouch for the fuel consumption as my 3500 miles TDv8 is not returning less than 28.6mpg according to the trip computer that is reset for each refill. This weekend on the run from Sway to Stirling (450 miles) I averaged 28.9mpg and 66.8mph for the trip - I ran at speeds considerablely above the average for some parts of the trip and suspect that I may have earned my first speeding ticket in 28 years of driving thanks to Cumbria police having a full set of speed cameras over the M6 just north of J40 on Sunday evening in rain that was more like a waterfall than rain.
Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300

RRS V8

I have just returned from Scotland and the trip computer is showing at 70mph, 29.8mpg. Two weeks ago a return journey proved thirsty, but I was too scared to look Rolling Eyes

But I have far more love for my D3 Tonga Green
