Thanks for the reply Liam, never done greenlaning in the D3 before so would like something easy to start as people on here are saying that AT2 sidewalls are a bit fragile.
look forward to all responses and hopefully we could go as a group.

i too like the idea of going as a group to somewhere nice and easy, ive began looking into getting a defender for a bit more adventurous off roading due to the same reason as you woody3 i just would hate to see the scratches all over my car.
would be good to find out what lanes are available to us locally. been driving round the lanes through ilam, tissington and ashbourne this week and would love to try it out somewhere round there.

Wish I could afford a Defender as well as the D3 but working on a limited budget [retired], not having to worry about getting a rash would be good. Why buy a car when you can buy a Land Rover.....because I'm worth it.

We'd be up for some group greenlaning as well. I have done a few bits. Bamford Clough is always interesting - only ever done it up, as I think I would scare myself going down!
We live in Bamford, so are pretty central

Hi Woody
In the peaks I would normally go and drive a couple of lanes by myself as and when the fancy take me.
There are plenty of lanes that are accessible in a D3. I now drive them in a Standard D4.
Would be happy to meet up to drive a few lanes. If you PM me with your e mal I will send you some lane details.

Hi Chrisb, the clough may be a bit busy this weekend the likes of vw beetles, escorts, may be the odd golf or a ford pop, amasing how they do it really, still its a lot more comfortable in a D2 or D3. you should try it going down, feels like you are going to fall out the front windscreen. The rocky section is on Stanage Edge...it technically is one way now (i.e. you are only allowed to go up it, not down).
I was blown away when my Defender managed to go up there the first time.

Just popped down Eaking Road (the lane next to the desert in mansfield) this morning on my own before work. very timid but fun if never been off road before.
looks like someone has been through with a digger in some sections as it has changed within the last 4-5 months. now some steps and drop offs etc. even one point i turned around and came back as i was on my own and didnt want to get stuck haha
but all in all was fun and non-damaging... just got to clean bloody car again now!

This could get confusing!...Woody - you are more than welcome to come along.
To everyone else, as promised, I was going to mark some lanes up (from whtdavid) onto my mates OS Maps, however, my mate has lost his maps, so I'm struggling at the moment.
Any other takers, before I go out n spend some of my hard earned on some new maps...
Date dependant I might come for a play Don’t worry it is supposed to sound like that...honest
