One for Kenso - He'll know what this is about. |

The Landy did the "jump up" today. Did it with ease, although the left hand side-step is a little worse for wear.
The 'Cruiser behind me made it look very difficult, as did the "Lux" behind it. Looking at the vehicles that did get through, side steps were the main injuries.
Many didn't make it and even more didn't try. No photos unfortunately.
Have you tried it Kenso?

Hi Russ,
Know exactly where you went.
You're a braver man than I Gunga Din...Mine is a V6SE with the optioned read E diff as well, and I know it would walk up with ease, Its me, that can only think of the potential damage and dollars signs.
You know, for the sake of 1/2 a day to knock down a rock or 2 at the top that causes all the grief...
Any way once the ecoterrorists and the rock painters get their way, we won't have to worry about it, cause we won't be able to get past Whitnell bay boat ramp...if we even allowed that far.
Tony.

Yep, I know that little hill well, I go along with Wopac, much to scary for me in my D3 have approached it a couple of times but always chicken out, most likely due to the spectators who always seem to be there! . Apparently CALM (now named something else) has 8 million set aside to put a sealed road all the way to Conzinc bay. Most who live here long term is dead against it. Because this beautiful area is so hard to get to at the moment it’s relatively pristine. Once a sealed road goes in there will be people and cars (not to mention vans) galore!. It will decimate the wildlife in this area. I guess it all revolves around the dollars that can be made from this park. Well we are off on the 1st of July sold just about everything we own and going traveling for years and years!

Hi again Wopac and Kenso,
I have to admit to a little trembling of the the trouser suction clamp on the way up, but it got worse on the way down! The car got a pretty big lean happening and I was sure it was going all the way, but because the D3 has so much throttle control I was able to gently get it upright again. Toilet paper almost required!
I agree with your thoughts about Conzinc Bay Kenso. My daughter was telling us about the plans to pave the road in. It would be a shame, and it would take away one of the few challenges left that are close to town.
I used to go there in the early '80s, the first time we lived at Karratha. It hasn't deteriorated at all since then but open access would change that.
Cheers,
