One for the IIDBT gurus!

Good morning,

I have finally got around to be brave enough to try my IID BT device! After reading yesterday that the car should be told when it's had a new battery, and then reading the GAP manual (most un-manlike) I though that I'd start there.

An Exide 017te EA1000 battery was fitted earlier in the year to replace the original (seven and a half year old) Land Rover one. For the first time in the five and a half years that I've had the car I had the Low Battery warning the other morning and the Timed Climate had stopped. Going through the menus on the IID gives a range of batteries, but the 100Ah 900CCA of the Exide isn't listed. The original was 90Ah 950CCA which is on the list. Should I leave it at that?

Secondly, the trip computer's fuel consumption is 12-14% optimistic. The Trip Fuel Eco Adjust is set at 7%. Which way do I need to go to make it more accurate please?

I've no doubt that each time I plug the IID in I'll be along with many more daft questions, so please be gentle!

Thanks,

Nigel.

I can't remember what the corrrect battery is, I think it's leave as is but not sure. Re mpg, I put mine down to 0%, although it's still reading over a bit, it's a lot better than it was. I've also fiddled with the speedo setting but can't remember what I did, though I have ended up with the cruise set speed as accurate, needle still over-reads by about 5%.

Thanks DSL.

I have left the battery settings alone for the time being, as the original setting is nearest to the ‘new’ battery.

I’ll do the same I think with the eco thing, and set it to 0% and take it from there. At least I’ll have an idea of which way to adjust it.

I’m wondering whether ignorance was bliss when I saw all the various fault codes! Fortunately they appear to be comms errors (at the moment!).

Nigel.

I think my setting is -4% to achieve true accuracy.

Will give the -4% setting a go. Thumbs Up

Can the speedo needle be made accurate? My D3 was spot on. Confused

PS Can we read injector balance for D4s? I could on the D3 but couldn't for the life of me find it for the D4. Confused

I’m glad you can’t find the injector values either, because I can’t!!
