(Old)-Nokia centre console docking station.

Does anyone has any ideas on what to do with this?

Any recommendeded mods, hacks, up-cycling (down-cycling), steam-punk ? Mr. Green
Has any got any use for this at all? Not even know how/with what to use this thing. Rolling Eyes

It was taking too much space of my fridge, so I took it off. Whistle

The only interesting thing for me would be using the antenna, but I have no clue how to do that in modern phones (antenna extender maybe). Besides, Bluetooth is working a treat, so no need for any docking anyway.

It's not the connecting of the equipment to the human that matters, but the other end of the system connecting the equipment to the radio signal. The people marketing cellphones want to sell their potential customers on ease of use and convenience so stopped fitting connectors for external antennae.

So many times when I had a D3 with one of these kits I was able to make calls when everyone else with a phone in their pocket/handbag was saying there was no service. A lot of clever design (and cost to the purchaser) goes into packing multiple antennae into the latest smartphone models in order to get a slightly better signal in and out, when a proper antenna up on the vehicle roof still far out performs the internals.
