Thanks for all the advice lads. So I've done a few miles since the repair. Still sounds very rough and lumpy. I don't have any engine check lights on. But it doesn't want to rev anywhere 3000 revs without something wanting to give way. The MOT/DOE is due in a couple of days and I am very nervouse about sending it in as the exaust smoke test can be very severe as the testers like to rev the engine to 4000 revs for a few minutes. So right now I do think I have some bent valves. Sounds like 1 of the left side exaust valves. The bottom end off the engine sounds fine/feels fine. So would any1 know where I could pick up a couple of assembled heads for the engine.I don't really want to install new valves as seating them seems like teadious work. In the mean time im thinking about checking the timing again. Install the 2 cam pins and flywheel lock and make sure it all lines up make sure I didn't go wrong. Is it posible that the cams are lifting 2 high too long and making a lound crashing tapping noiseDicovery 3 (Rimini Red)

You can get heads off ebay for around £100. (excluding chain normally)
Make sure you get the cams with it.
Jaguar one fits too.
The passenger side is a right pain to change due to the rear belt and belt cover
