The technical bulletin LA-501-006 for water ingress through the A pillar exterior states that the customer may report unexplained illumination of warning lights such as the oil pressure warning light.

Hi guy's,
Quick update on my low oil pressure issue.
I did not drive much with this D3. Not much time to work on it either.
I change the oil filter (Mahle now).
Tonight, I measured the oil pressure between my 2 D3's. Both have new oil, new oil filter.
The running one shows (it did not heat more than 70°C in the oil) :
Oil is Elf SXR 900, 5W30
The one with the oil pressure issue showed :
Oil is Pemco iDrive 5W30, ACEA A3/B4
I could notice that the oil pressure is dropping a lot with temperature. I was very surprised with this fact.
Up to 80°C, the oil pressure is still OK according to Mickey's spec : 0,5 bar mini at idle, 1 bar mini if >2500 rpm.
Driving 5km on a mountain road, the oil temperature reaches easily 100°C. I could not reach it at home, idling.
Next test would be to drive further on a moutain road and check oil + coolant temperature.
Is suspect that the oil temperature increases a lot, dropping the pressure too much.
Did anyone notice such beaheavior before ?D3 TDV6 for holidays use,

Hi all,
Just to keep you updated.
I had first an APEX pump in my D3 2.7L.
Lately, I changed that pump to a PSA (FoMoCo branded) type I ordered from EBay.
I measure the pressure with the APEX and the PSA. I kept the same oil, which is 5W30 and new. Mannol Brand.
The pressures at 80°C are impressively higher.
I used to have 0,8bar. I now have 1,05 bar.
And at 2000 rpm, I used to have 1,6 bar and I have now 2,2 bar.D3 TDV6 for holidays use,

there are 1 or 2 instances of wiring or dash problems causing the light to be on,
Maybe you should fit your own bulb between oil pressure sw and cigar lighter +
If the dash light comes on, without the extra light, you know its not a real issue.
Hi Pete,
It was a real "low pressure" issue. Confirmed when I measured the pressure at various oil temperatures.
Thanks for the lead.D3 TDV6 for holidays use,
