Oil pressure figures normal?

Hi, finally got round to checking the oil pressure today and would like some input on whether the figures are ok.
I'm hunting a noise which i suspect may be the HPFP but want to try and discount oil flow/pressure as a suspect to something more sinister, the engine doesn't knock although it does have a very faint tapping noise from the O/S bank.

Cold start (not started for 5 days)
usual 4 seconds or so for oil to reach upper galleries then
49psi at idle
68psi at @2250 rpm

warm start at full operating temp
18psi idle
38psi 2250rpm

these are high compared the book figures posted on here although there does seem to be conflicting information.

could someone in the know clarify for me.

thanks for your help

Nick

The landrover manual tells me to check it at 3500 rpm after a 6 mile journey. It doesn't tell me what value to expect though Rolling Eyes

The Citroen manual tells me it should be between 1-4 Bar at 2500rpm when cold

Jag manual says minimum 7psi at idle
above 2500RPM minimum 14.5psi
maximum 58psi

I'm getting 20psi (1.4bar) on idle
and 50psi (3.4bar) when revved.

when cold:
50-55psi idle
over 60psi @2500rpm which is too much really, buts its only at cold

Very similar to mine then.

Although now I have a new oil pump and fully sealing pickup pipe (upper sump gasket), the engine is much quieter

Thanks for the reply Pete,
Very similar figures which eases my worry on how high they were.
Now to finally trace the noise. Rolling Eyes

yeah that's possibly just a slightly noisy lifter making the faint tapping noise which I'm not to concerned with atm,
I have a noise under throttle at low rpm cruising speeds I've been trying to diagnose.
Its impossible to recreate at a standstill, think I need to get someone to take a look on a lift before i throw 500 quid at a hpfp Shocked

My other post, for reference
