2 seconds isn't too bad.

But it maybe a sign the oil filter is crushed and oil draining down to sump when off.

when was the oil last changed ?

It is very common for the light to be slow to extinguish, however any longer than that and I would suggest inspection / pressure test. The oil drains back to the sump due to the high position of the oil filter (gravity) hence the pump has to replenish on start up which takes a couple of seconds!.

If you are only seeing this now for the first time, or have further concerns have it checked. Thumbs Up

It might be you are only noticing something that has been visible all along!

Just have a look at the oil filter to be certain it is located correctly, but as said earlier these engines are slow to extinguish the light.

If you spin a bearing and block off the oil feed the light should go out quicker in theory Wink

I have made the distribution recently and put a new oil pump, original LR (FoMoco) and I must say that the oil pressure indicator has approximately the same delay as it has always had!
