oil level

I have now read different threads to understand the oil level indicator.
There seems to be different opinions on how much oil each notch on the indicator is.
Have seen 300 ml, 250ml and 125 ml.
Some say from min to max 1 litre.
I am confused.
As I had an oil leak in the turbo and it is now changed I want to find out if this was the leak or if there still is something with the renovated engine.

There is also different opinion how much a 3.0 l engine should consume.

Please give me some advice. When is oil consumption going from normal to exessive?

My 7 year old 100k miles D4 uses probably 1/2 litre service to service (12k miles), ex D3 was the same. I don’t even need to top up between services as it still reads over half way up the gauge.
It can be dependant on how they are drive, thrashed and they will use more.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

You can read the calculated value with an IID if you have one

To be on thesafe side....

Empty the Engine sucking out the oil, Open the drain plug. Engine Must be all empty. Start filling Upper 5 ltrs and meter, add 100 ml at atime until 5,9 ltrs are filled up. That is the regulär volume i guess to remember

Thank you for all advice.
But it must be someone who knows what one notch on the meter equals.
Seems to be a long way to measure myself by empty the engine and do little at a time. wait for 20 minutes to read and so on.
It is unfortunate that JLR got rid of the dip stick.

I am amazed that no one have any information on the oil level display.
I did get someone saying that I should test by adding a little by little.
I am sure this already has been done by someone. Please let me know.
I am not sure I can trust the meter and add a liter when it says so. I would prefer to be able to top up with less, but with the knowledge of what I am doing.
