Oil Leak - Rubber Hose

Just had MOT and service completed by my (very!) local indy and he pointed out an oil leak which was mentioned by a main dealer at last years service/MOT. they hadn't bothered to look where it came from but my Indy showed me today as he had the engine undertray off.

It was a quick-disconnect fitting on a hose running between the bottom of the engine, past the starter motor and up towards the top of the engine. he thought it might be the associated with the turbo.
Anyone able to identify this hose and how difficult to fix ?
He thought the easiest way would be to het a new quick-release fitting and crimp the hose onto it rather than fiddle a complete new hose all round the engine.

Could be the pipe that runs from the vacuum/scavenger pump

Could be. Doesn't look like a high-pressure hose but is weeping enough oil to be messy.

Sounds like the vacuum extraction tube for doing an oil change.

After searching online for one yesterday, I have just remembered I have one on my phone. The reason I have it is to show the dealer why I believed they hadn't just performed an oil change via the sump bung. The reason for everything being plastered in oil was the turbo oil drain problem which affects D4's. Is it possible that it isn't the rubber hose leaking but actually oil dripping onto it from above?

That looks like the little blighter !

Given what you've said re turbo pipe. might make sense as there's oil on the starter motor above this connection and as I'm certain it's not high-pressure oil it can't have sprayed up there.

What's my chances of claiming on my LR warranty to have the turbo pipe replaced ?

Sounds very much like the turbo oil pipe drain needs modified. Have you noticed puffs of smoke on hard acceleration as you pass the 2500rpm mark?

Don't know about LR warranty, warranty direct covered it but I had to fight as they claimed it was a hose and didn't want to cover it though at the time their policy wording under turbos stated "all turbo components". I see they have now updated their policy wording to exclude turbo pipes and hoses.
