oil condition
My D3 is just coming up to its first service, and I'm taken slight back by the condition of the oil on the dipstick. Its "sticky" and very black, whilst still being full. On my old D3, even at the 75k service, the oil was still closer to the clean golden colour of fresh oil.
Got a price of £261.78 for the service, all inclusive with courtesy car from Hereford LR, so its booked in.

Was your "old" D3 a petrol one by any chance?
I've never yet seen a diesel where the oil hasn't been black after a few K miles.Clive

That's surprising then, clean oil in a dirty diesel must have been a good one
Maybe the Oilman will be along sometime and shed some light on it.Clive
