An 'oil burning' letter from LR.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before. I got a letter from my dealer recently for my now departed early TDV6 MY06 model, regarding excessive oil consuption in some engines. And a request to take to the car to them so they can check the oil levels, if below 15000 miles sevice as I remember . And take some very vague action if required !!!!

Just a heads up to any 05/06 owners who have not recieved this ?

Their vague corrective action would appear to be to overfill the oil, if the levels on my car are anything to go by.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Just spoken to my stealer, it's an opertunity to educate U in the ability of the TDV6 to use oil, plus you get a free 1ltr bottle. Unfortunately nothing more. Well a free bottle of oil is a free bottle of oil! Mr. Green
