Another problem is according to my dealer the spare is part of the crumple zone when fitted underslung so would fitting a swing away invalidate your insurance

I suppose you could always carry two spares Smile If heavy off road use could be a benefit.

Something about the photo isn't right..... the 'spare' looks much bigger than the fitted wheels...

Also a different tyre too... photo's on the web site also make the wheel look bigger apart from the one where the spare is slung to the side.

5 spoke 18" (S Spec) wheels on the ground, 6 spoke 19" (HSE Spec) wheel on the back with oversize tyre by the looks of it. Handy for second spare but removing the original from underneath is not a good idea.

Like the roof tent though Very Happy

would be good off road for ease of changing and not taking the room in the boot up if you was to put the spare there as did CC in Wales which would have been a big problam if we had to unload all the boot to unscrew the spare underneath then try to get that out and then put the other back under and screw it back up etc, and to have to do that in the rain is another thing. (and we were lucky it was'nt) so I think it's a good idea to conceder (can't spell) one Wink

The handbook does recommend putting the spare in the back for off roading.
It was a lucky coincidence that I'd given CC that wheel in the morning so he had an extra one in the back Very Happy
