Normally, only risk, known in france, is IF they stop you, and run your plate, and find something, you get to pay it all, PLUS interest....
They did it to my father a while back in a porsche 928 S4
fine was about 3ooo+
Got flashed in France Oct 2009, Italy Oct 2009 & Andorra Aug 2911, nowt yet.

Tisk, tisk, you should all be ashamed! Speeding is no laughing matter, especially if God forbid, you have an accident. You should be driving responsibly, not counting how many times you have got away with it! Shame on you.
Really? (or are you being sarcastic).
Unfortunately, the blatant misuse of the law and camera's for revenue earning opportunities has now resulted in the widely held belief that breaking speed limits is not necessarily directly related to driving responsibly. Inevitable result when you think about it…
Driving responsibly is what we should be serious about.

The Andorra one was 50km in a tunnel, I had worked out that as my speed was 45mh I was OK!! I do occasionally go fast, well fast enough to get into 6th.

I am from Germany and everyone here drives very fast, and its generally expected that people drive well above the speed limit, although be carefully round areas like airports and ports where there is more active cameras. The police are more often concerned with parking and pedestrians crossing the road on a red but keep an eye out for them, if you do encounter the german police they wont take any excuses.

2 years ago got caught by a speeding camera in Germany and the fine arrived within a couple op weeks on my doorstep. I don't know the exact facts anymore but to my suprise it wasn't that high.
Mayby the main difference is that I am dutch and there are different agreements with Germany/ Holland than Germany UK regarding fines.

If a UK Driver is banned from driving in the Republic of Ireland the ban follows them home! I think it's the only agreement between two countries in Europe regarding driving bans.
It also works the other way!

Germany is cheap with its speeding tickets, Switzerland however prety expensive
Got caught in Germany twice and one time in Switzerland on a trip to Milan 4 weeks ago, resulting in a € 10 and € 30 fine in Germany but € 100 in Switzerland. All speeding 12Km/ph and less.
When I drove a Belgium plate many years ago I had the police knocking on my door to verify if I had been to Switzerland to present me with a fine
Fines from France never reach me. Got pulled over 1 time last year doing 155Km and got of with a € 50 fine.
Also speeding in Holland is very expensive.....CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

I've noticed cameras flashing at me in Germany on two occasions. The first time in a Hertz rental car, a couple of months later Hertz informed me that they had withdrawn the fine (which was very cheap) and an "administration fee" (not so cheap) from my credit card. The second time I got flashed I was in my in my own car, I never got that fine. Speeding fines are VERY cheap in Germany compared to Sweden...

In Switzerland can be very expensive, last year a Swedish driver had to pay 27'000 CHF(he was risking up to 1 million) 290 Km/h instead of 120.
If they stop you, you have to pay the fine immediately, yes they accept credit cards. If you cannot pay you have to leave the car till you pay.
