Off road set?

Just wondering do any of you have an ‘off road’ set of wheels that you change to when off road/green laning? If so what are the prefered options for wheels/tyres?
Im guessing those of you that like to get muddy 1 - swap to chunkier tyres & 2 - might not want to wreck the alloys?

I have a set of 19" alloys which currently have Vedestrian Winter tyres on, these have had winter and off road tyres on and the wheels are a little scratched, am going to be selling them if you are intrested as they dont fit the D5 and need 20" instead.

I've seen a load of guys fit the chunky 6 spoke alloys from the D3 for off roading / winter wheels - as there seems to be a much wider nobbly tyre choice for them

I'm going to be doing the same when I get round to buying new wheels for mine. I quite fancy a set of those clover leaf style Range Rover wheels, so my originals will be shod with some Coopers

I've gone for 19s and the General Grabber X3. Also have a set of part worn AT3 in the garage waiting to go on when my Scorpions give up.

Mine is a base spec TDV6 with 18" wheels. I've put Bridgestone D697 on them, 265/60R18 so a little bigger than the standard 255/60R18 it came with. In the 255/60R18 size I've had 2 sets of Pirelli Scorpion ATRs before. First set I was happy with, the second set was horrible (from a discount supplier). I wonder if they were seconds if there is such a thing with tyres. It looked like the fitters had been playing scrabble with the weights to balance them, who could make the longest line of weights. Ridiculous.

Just out of interest what will fit onto a D4? I gather any D3 wheel will, but what else? Cant seem to find any cheap modular type wheels like u find for other LR models?
I just want a cheap & cheerful set for greenlaning etc.

D3 wheels on a D4 = 19”ers only. There are 18” wheels that fit (compmotive) but they are rare and far, far from cheap. Assuming you have a 3.0 D4, which a 2012 would be. Thumbs Up

PS FFRR & RRS 19s also fit and can be cheap as chunky French fries.

From memory D4 need 19” but stand to be corrected
RRS wheels will fit but you have to check as some are not the right weight loading both in alloy wheel and tyre
Unfortunately alloys seem to fetch good money now used to be able to pick them up much cheaper
