Just returned from Bots last week, bush all very green from lots of rain so not much sitings of cats except the Leopard that came through our camp every night.
Enjoy, watch the potholes and scratches from the overgrown bush. (I fitted magnetic panels on the sides of the vehicle up to door handle height but it needed to be up to window height! A must if VPS is not fitted. See pics in my gallery.)Ren Colyn

Back from trip - D3 behaved impeccably
Only once during heavy dune driving the "suspension fault" warning was activated, but after switching ignition off and on again everything was back to normal
Average fuel consumption - 12,5L/100km over 4000km's with RR and RTT
Optima battery performed well - on average the battery would fully charge from about 40% discharge in 30 minutes
For the first time the Genesis management system would go through its system check process while driving - the same as when ignition is switched on Maybe a loose connection - did not however impact on the charging of the three batteries.Erstwhile - D3 S '07. Dual battery system. Upgraded tow hitch. Mantec skid plate. Frontrunner rr. Tmax double headed built in compressor
It's this statement and some of the photos, coupled with the "I'm off to Botswana...4,000 km..." that makes the prospect of a day's laning in Europe seem very mundane and insignificant...
Good to hear you had a good time (And the wildlife left you alone... )The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeksnearly 4 weeksover 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

At our very first bush camp before Kaa entrance to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park a hyena came to visit very early the evening and returned later with a sibling - very young and very playful - .
Early morning 4 lions passed our camp a mere 10 meters away - must say SWAMBO (and me !) felt very safe in RTT.
Only other encounter was at Bitterpan when 6 lions (2 male) came to drink and rest at the waterhole about 20 meters from the chalets. Early morning they proceeded towards our vehicles but the game warden chased them off with a "kettie". Later told us that on a previous occasion same lions broke off side rear view mirror and destroyed spare wheel cover and wheel of a VW Toureg
The same day saw Cape Cobra in a tree not far from chalets and across the road a black Mole-snake (not venomous) - for City slickers like us this was quite something Erstwhile - D3 S '07.
