Oddness after bush replacement.

Hi all,

just did the front suspension lower arm rear bushes on my 06 TDV6 HSE. No problems with the arm removal, marked up all the adjuster bolts etc (it will get alingment tommorrow anyway)

We withdrew the driveshafts just enough to clear the lower ball joint - i.e we left the top arm, arb link and sensors alone. Also did not touch ABS sensors or brakes at all, just removed the arms, air chiselled old bushes out and pressed in new ones.

I only drove it after the work a few K's but on turning left the DSC light flashes and DSC activates like the vehicle is sliding. It's not when braking or even going fast - just turning left!!

Any ideas? Will a hard reset help and how do I do one of them?

Cheers,

Matt

How much vibration did the air chisel create, could something (a sensor for example) have worked loose or been damaged Question Thumbs Up

Unnecessary quote removed

The arms were off the car in the vice about 20 ft away so I don't think so.

We did undo the shock / air spring lower bolt and left them hanging. Might have upset something.

I know you say that you didn't touch the wheel speed sensors, but are you sure you didn't damage the wiring or anything like that?

The only other thing that springs to mind is tyre pressures even though it seems obvious....

Hmmm

Steering angle recal sounds like a good idea. Is that a dealer only job? It's getting wheel alignment today but at local tyre shop not dealer. I phoned dealer to be told that they just drive D3s needed align to the tyre place near them anyway so I was best just to do it myself.

Cheers for the inputs so far.
