OBC mpg

Many of you have reported that the OBC gives a much more pessimistic tally of average mpg when compared to working it out yourselves.

Mine seems to be opposite Sad

Last 2 tanks, the OBC has shown 19 mpg but my calaculator shows 17.4 Crying or Very sad

It is about 4.5L to the Gallon, isn't it?

Sounds very low, my car is only a week old and the OBC is reading 28-30mpg which tallies with my manual records. Mine is a manual TDV6, I assume you aren't driving a V8 Auto? Smile

During my one-day test drive of an TDV6 HSE auto (a cold snowy day), the OBC returned a quite acceptable 23.5 mpg and got exactly the same with a manual calculation.

I'm afraid that it is constant nose to tail London traffic, school runs and down to the shops, all very short journeys.

Car has about 3000 on the clock and was new in Sept 05 Oh! and it's a TDV6 S.

My BMW 323 only averages 17 mpg in London traffic so I find the Disco quite reasonable for a big vehicle.

At the end of Summer when we were doing day trips with the kids we were getting closer to 26 mpg with a half an half mix of round the houses and A road blasts.
