Ticked down to zero as I was queuing for the pump, was hoping it was pessimistic, really didn't want to push the last few metres!

Mikey, how many litres did you get in? That'll tell you what you had slopping around in the bottom of the tank.

I read in the manual that the D4 goes into limp mode for the last mile then shuts down, preventing you from draining the fuel system between engine and tank.

made it home and range showing 5 miles, but I was driving like a nun Iggy/Ieuan

Anyone had any experience with this?
I have run mine to about 5 mile range to empty (my previous Honda did about 40 miles on zero) and I regularly run it to 20 when the warning eventually appears with no problems.
However, when my fuel gauge disappeared earlier this year and I couldn't get it booked in, after about 200 miles it did start cutting out even though there was plenty of diesel and it even cut out on the forecourt after being refuelled, so it will try to stop you from running out.Andy

When driving my V8 Series 1 Land Rover home I had forgotten to fill up the now empty tank, a mile from my exit, it coughed and died. Coasting along it picked up again and drove all the way to the petrol station!
I've made sure it does do that again!Series 1 V8
