I did, a month ago. We went up from Helsinki, following the Finnish - Russian border up to the northern coast, then by the coastline of Norway all the way back down with a side trip to Vesteralen and Lofoten islands.

If you are not able to travel by the end of october I think you are better off waiting until next summer. The days gets really short and the weather can be really bad, but it can also be really beautiful! But if your not a big fan of rain, wind, and cols long nights, wait until may-june. Then you have daylight all night aswell! and the weather is often good.
If Nordkapp is your only goal, you also better off driving throu sweden, better roads, but the views etc are much better in Norway. The distance Oslo-Nordkapp is 2150km..!! About 32 hours of straight drive..

Going to Nordkapp in early november would be a very different experience. You would have short days in the south and no sun above the horisont when you approach Nordkapp after 2-3 days of driving.
The lowlands in the soulth would be wet, you would get snow above 1000 m. and you would drive into the polar night going north. Finnmark (the northernmost part of Norway) would greet you with full winter. Snow or rain every other day, and temperatures around 0 degrees celcius in average. But possibly minus 20.
You would see Aurora Borealis and probably some of the finest scenery Norway can offer. But also 2150 km of roads of every sort. Would should have M+S tyres, but no need for snow chains or other expedition gears. Passport and a good credit card will do.
The last miles to the Cape itself closes when the first snow comes, normally 1. November. You can get bus transport during this periode, and maybe you could convince them into admitting a Disco 3... -05 TDV6 HSE dc5r
