Non LR Warranty post 3 years?
Can anyone recommend
1. Whether it is worth getting a warranty after the manufacturers has expired?
2. If so, which is the best for the £££
After all the niggles I have experienced in the last 18months, I guess it would be a good idea, but it depends on what is and isnt covered.
Did a search, but the word warranty seems to pop up a bit too much.
Many thanks

From my experience these after market warrantys aren't worth the paper they're printed on!
I had one on my 98 Freelander with the sole reason being for head gasket as it was a named covered component. Anyway in due course I needed to claim, the head cylinder was cracked! Still never mind i think, its a named component.
But....according to the c p garage and the warranty company, the reason my head cylinder was cracked was due to some bolt failing and shearing off (dont ask me i'm not a mechanic!) anyway result was "yes sir the cylinder head and head gasket are covered but as i'm afraid the bolt wasnt thankyou for your payment this year but tough sh t!!
Finally managed to get £100 "goodwill gesture" out of them, then to rub salt into wounds following day "hello sir would you like to renew for another year?" soon told her where to f k off!
Agree. 3rd Party warranty companies are in business to make money, not so you can have worry free motoring..
IMHO the LR full extended warranty is the only one to go for. £1195/yr, but you can pay by 10 interest free monthly payments. Good for cars up to 60k miles.
In all honesty the only warranty to have is the LF factory warranty that comes with the car from new. Why? Well it is in LR's interest to make sure you are a happy customer for 3 years and will come back for a new car. So they will (generally) be hassle free for claims.
Used cars with an extended LR warranty is just to keep the dealers happy, I would think LR don't prioritise this part of the business.
