Nokia Car Kit & TomTom fitted
I hate trailing wires over the dash for the TomTom etc, so I spent the morning fitting my Nokia CK-7W car kit and TomTom Go 910 properly.
Took out the radio and AC panels etc and the centre console and ran all the wires behind the trim. Found that the phone cradle fits really nicely into the passenger side cup-holder (with the insert removed) so really unobtrusive. Pretty easy to do, I used an Elan phone mute lead so no wiring needed, just plugs into the radio harness.
the Tundra dash looks good for a change from all the black as well Lakeland Land Rover

Looks very neat. I've done a similar thing by mounting the docking station on a black plywood panel which sits in the recess, like yours. However, I still have the wiring on show. How do you remove the radio / AC panel and how is the docking station secured?

The docking station is attached to a 'dashboard disc' available from eBay for a few pence. Basically a smooth round plastic disc which the suction cup attaches to and has a strong 3m pad on the other side that sticks to the dash in the recess (with the rubber mat trimmed to fit around it).
To hide the wiring just remove the heater and radio surround panel by pulling firmly toward you at the bottom edges (stiff to remove but on metal clips so won't break) and lift it out, then run the wiring inside. I actually drilled the back corner of the sat nav recess to run the wire down as once the rubber mat is replaced you won't see the hole.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Yes - that's the same sort of disc that I glued to the plywood panel. Think I'll be doing a bit of re-wiring, this weekend! Thanks for the info.I was taught to be cautious.
