noise from steering column |
|
I occasionally get what I can best describe as a flexing sound from the steering column/OSF dash area. It usually appears on motorway driving and only started in March time this year after 10 months use. Most noticable in windy conditions. Dealer could find nothing wrong I'd be grateful if anyone has any ideas or similar problem.

Hello swan63, welcome to the forum!
I get a sort of creaking sound from the panel below the steering column sometimes. It's annoying, but I've always put it down to the clips wearing in a bit. It's been around for a while now, so I might try and grease them or something like that.
Don't know if it's the same as your problem though. Have a nice day!

I have the knocks but also an intermittent sqeak from the steering wheel when it is turned. More noticeable when towing and at slow speeds. Any ideas?

ive had steering knock fixed and they have had three goes at the sqeak from the steering wheel still there, but not as bad. I think it is coming from the collar not the base of column.
going back for ammplifier for stereo i'll have them have another go. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
