Always difficult to tell where the noise is coming from, but it appears to be front wheel, its like a whine when wheels are rotating, came on yesterday and most prevalent when turning in one direction, its a wheel noise, did wonder of handbrake hadn't dis-engaged correctly, noise can be heard at very slow speed and it varies as to how noisy it is, had this on my wifes merc and it was just catching on the brake covers, any other ideas.

Have you checked if the wheel has play? Could be a wheel bearing.

Thanks for the feedback, i have identified that in fact its the rear wheel on drivers side, so its a whine which is greater at slow speed and mostly when turning right, i played around with the cover behind the wheel and that eased it, then sprayed water at high speed to clear anything and although it stopped on the day it has come back and its a whine at slow speed but generally when turning right or braking. Not straight line, and not when turning left....it is only one wheel so done the research up and down with my son listening. Thoughts?

Same applies, jack the disco up and check for play. It could still be the bearing. Also I'd take the wheel off and check your brakes and surrounding areas for anything that looks like it's been rubbing. While it's jacked up, on stands and chocked, put it into neutral and manually turn the wheel and look and listen to see if anything gives any signs to pin point the issue.

Just as a thought, if it’s a tinny kinda whine have you checked the brake disc shield? If it’s rubbing against the brake discs that can make a noise when turning in a single direction.
