no fuel in my tank!!
Hi there, Can anyone help me out with what to do about my intermittant fuel guage? It will show tank level for a while then without warning it drops to zero! I have dropped the tank to look at the sender but could not get to it properly ( working underneath with suspension in off road setting. I have tried cleaning the connections, appeared ok for about half a day and then "bing" no fuel again.
Many thanks

cheers chaps, how many sensors does the tank have?? i dropped the tank yesterday and cleaned the only connectrions i could find. Seemed to work for about half a day because when the wife popped out in the evening she said it was ok until she got home when it dropped again! asked my local stealer for price on new sender and his reply was that they are supplied with the tank at a cost of £480+vat!!

Hi Neil,
There are two sensors in the tank. I believe that one is a real pain (impossible?) to get at.

sounds like they quoted you for the intank pump
the senders are
Front
WGI500060 £52 retail
Rear
WGI500070 £52 retail
the rear one is VERY difficult to replace
need long girly arms and child size hands to get in there but it is possible
was a bit of a common fault on early D3's where tanks were replaced complete by LRTLO has left the building.......
