They claim 30% longer life due to the fact that the tyre pressures don't change as quickly due to natural leakage. It's all based on the fact that so many people never check their tyre pressures and therefore are running at the wrong pressure increasing wear.
If you check your tyre pressures regulary, then I don't see how there can be any difference in wear rates.

Silly question but, how do they suck all the air out before putting the nitrogen in? Surely, the volume of the tyre is going to be full of air even when deflated. Is there a way of sucking the oxygen out as you put the nitrogen in? I can't believe you can get much of a vacuum in a deflated tyre, so there must always be a percentage of air still in there - or have I got it completely wrong?
