Can’t say wether the trailer is empty or fully laden.
But looking back on history with the older discovery’s pulling trains, I think 40 ton would be a breeze for the disco.

I'd guess unladen, the tractor unit doesn't have the extra axle lowered.

They are only pulling the truck along, not lifting vertically off the ground! Laughing

I went round the Police Control room covering Spaghetti junction some years ago and was told they would regularly pull fully loaded , 38 Tonne then, units off the motorway with Range Rovers. I think the advantage of D3/4's is their weight. They must be maxed out with the on-board kit.

The third axle would be off the ground even if fully laden in those conditions so as to put more weight on the driven axle and improve grip. Perfectly permissible to get you out of trouble at low speed in snow and ice.

THEY ALL need telling off .
You neva drag /pull a weight off the tow ball just looked at both vids and both doing the same should be shackled to the chassis through the metal towing eye by the plug in electrics.

Very good though Thumbs Up
