We are members of the NFU and our D4 will be with us sometime in October.
Has anyone obtained a voucher from the NFU recently and if so, how long did it take to arrive. We don't want to be in the position of our car coming in early and not being able to collect it due to waiting for the voucher.

Mine took two days to come. Depends on how long you've been a member of the NFU - needs to me 3 months before they send you the cert.
5% from NFU, 8% from dealer. Saved over £7,000 on the factory order.
Happy days! 2016MY Landmark + RSE

I would suggest you phone NFU membership ASAP and request your voucher, and get it to your dealer. The info. page on NFU states :
"Offer valid until 30th September 2011. Vehicles must be registered by the 30th September 2011 to qualify for the discount"
It may well be that they are renewing the offer on a 3 montly basis, but it seems a little strange as I seem to recall the last one ran for 12 months July 2010 to July 2011.

Offers have been valid for only 3 months for quite some time (at least a year or two), but I've just placed an order subject to the offer being renewed - so keeping fingers crossed it stays the same (or improves!!) in a couple of weeks time! D4 XS MY12 Galway

Yes, I've read the info on their website but wondered how stringent they were in determining elegibility for membership.

From memory, you have to apply for membership by phone. At that time, they will take all details, address etc, and ask how many acres you are farming, and whether arable, livestock, poultry etc. You pay the basic membershp and then an additional amount per acre.

I had a conversation with NFU rep (who was visiting my father in law who is a farmer) last week who suggested that the basic fee covers you up to approx 40 acres and then an additional £1 per acre. You also get discounts off NFU insurance - ti the extent that I think we (with two cars plus house insured with NFU) could get membership at zero cost. He hasn't got back with the promised information yet though...

Hi Guys
I joined 6 months ago and we have a small holding of approx 1 acre in France
They didnt check and have given me my voucher after 3 months, got 3% of a d4 commercial.
Other discounts are also available at other retailers.
Worth joining just for the discount on the motor. Cost us about £400.00 to join.

been told by nfu rep this pm that fee is £162+vat so a bit confused by the £400 cost quoted above - although it might be something to do with us living on father in law's farm and he's a full member?

As I understand it, the membership is an annual fee, from November. You pay pro-rata if you subscribe through the year.

I know - was told that if join now would have membership to end Oct at part year cost of around £100 including VAT so not worthwhile - he's signing us up from 1 November at cost of £162 + VAT
Think probably due to father in law at same location - we've got a discount on the car insurance through linking our cars and the in laws now
