The old Tower Restaurant in Liverpool did the same thing... 1 revolution in about 15 mins... The bogs were also in the central part on the tower. As you slide down the banister of life

AVE, Only time I went to the Tower restaurant was 1981........I believe it's a Radio Station
these days ?
I went to the restaurant in 1977 for my sisters birthday, but also managed to look around it when it was vacant many years ago.
You are right. One of the local radio stations use it now.As you slide down the banister of life

I'm looking at using a few BA miles to upgrade on New York flights in September, and wondered which airport is best to fly into - JFK or Newark? I'm sure I read somewhere that Newark was more convenient for Manhattan, but I also need to consider what BA lounge facilities are like there, seeing as we'll be flying out First and back Club World (for about £1k each plus 25000 miles - bargain!). Has anyone used the helicopter transfer to either of these airports, and any idea of price? This is my 40th treat so we're pushing the boat out on this one 8)Previously:

RM the cost of transfer by helicopter will be more than you have each paid for your flight to New York. Thank work paid when i went a few years ago!
It seems they make a killing out of corporates who are willing to pay such extortionate amounts. Would reccomend you look at a helicopter tour instead which although not cheap, are around 20% of the price of transfers, and you probably get to see more as well

I would recomend you went to Newark. JFK can be a nightmare to get to and from as the traffic can be very bad. Newark is also not as busy Global Warming.... I'm luvvin it
I've just booked a couple of flights to NY next May. Anyone got any tip to add to this already very informative thread? I need to look at hotels now - something for around $200 a night approx. I've looked on TripAdvisor but personal recommends would be welcome.Previously:

If you are looking for brownie points from the SWMBO check that she likes Sex and the cCty. If she does she may want to vist the "famous" bakery with the cupcakes. Can't remember the name. They were god awful and overpriced but she loved it...!
