New owner. Request for help. |
|
Hi all, I have just taken delivery of a new HSE last week and I am working my way through the books but have a couple of questions that you guys may be able to help with.
When the radio is on, under MENU there is a setting called AF SWITCH with settings of ON/OFF/AUTO. What does this do ?
Also, On the nav system under MENU > NAVIGATION SET UP > USER SETTINGS > there are a number of options including NOTIFY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS and DESTINATION ENTRY POP UP. When I change these settings the changes are lost as soon as I come out of the settings menu. Is there any way to save them or am I missing something?
Thanks a lot guys and sorry my first post is just questions!

Welcome London Lad. The AF function is Auto Frequency selection on the RDS radio. Most national radio stations use different frequencies across various areas of the country, Radio 2 is 88 to 91 fm depending on area. AF when set to on or auto will tune the radio as you travel around.
The sat nav options I am not sure about, mine is an 05 HSE and I think it may be different as it does not have those options (or at least I think it doesn't)

Thanks, re the RDS, that makes sense, I wonder what the difference between ON and AUTO is ?

That I cannot explain. Mine is set to auto, and retunes fine, so suggest you do the same.

London Lad, I've just tried mine and all I do is select which setting I need, then press the 'Return' button in the top right of the screen and the settings are saved, sorry but his is as much as I can tell you. I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.
