My new leather interior - alpacca with black piping
Finally got my leather upholstery put into the car. Most of those people who commented when I was trawling for views - self included - thought that the non-OEM style looked better and that's what I went with in the end. I'm very happy with the result. Here's a few photos; they're not great as they're taken on my phone; I'll take some decent ones and stick them in the gallery in due course.
The guys who did the work do lots of work for Lookers LR, which was important for me as I wanted to use someone who knows the vehicles. Their leather is supplied by Seat Surgeons as recommended by a fellow member (Seat Surgeons were too far North to visit to get the fitting done). The leather is Alpacca beige and matches perfectly. I opted for black piping, but they can do any colour for no extra charge. The car was away for 2 days (dropped it off in the morning and picked it up the next night). I now have a set of surplus fabric covers I'll offer up at some stage on fleabay unless anyone here wants first dibs.
All 7 seats were done. It looks really good when not full of crap, toys, dogs, etc. Very happy indeed.

I have thought of doing the same with my disco 3 with seat surgeon in York but add some black leather to it.

Thanks for your comments.
I've received several PMs so thought I'd post the detail here.
The firm that did my car is Duncan Smith Automotive (google them and they'll pop up as MS Design; their site says nothing about upholstery; they also do body kits). Give Duncan a call if you're interested in their wares. Look at the seat surgeon website (v good LR section of photos) and see what you want done. They've wholly flexible. His number is 01449 674180. You'll probably get Corinne, who's also great and v helpful.
My car was around £1200 + VAT to do for all 7 seats. Yes, they're very comfortable (helped by having new seat pads replaced under warranty a week before because they'd collapsed). The quality of the work and leather seems great. Duncan is a great guy to talk to. He's been around a while and in my experience knows exactly what he's talking about. He does a lot of classics as well as new stuff. Impressive. I took my car/from to his shop near Ipswich to keep costs down. They're on a main line station to London, so all very easy.
I did a lot of research before going for this and Duncan and Seat Surgeons seem to be universally well spoken of.
Mention me if you call and he'll expect a hard time on pricing!!PAGODA
