New IID Tool - Think i bricked my Audio Module :( (4x4info)
Hi All,
Received my new IID BT Tool today and been having a play and its awesome...
However, since I have a Disco 2005 and never had the 4x4info I thought I'd enable...
Think I've now bricked the stereo and nav system... no sound coming out and Land Rover logo is all I get do I need to flash the Audio ECU or need to rollback (think this takes a backup)?
Maybe not possible to enable on the early 2005 version??
Any help appreciated
Cheers

What did you update ?
Did you just do a Ccf edit ?
Did you have a battery charger connected to battery ?

Hi Sea Raider,
Tried again even tried rolling back the change but looks to have corrupted something along the way
Stereo plays CD's but no sound and Nav stuck on Land Rover logo...
Thanks

Hi Pete,
Just performed the CCF process Sea Raider mentioned above.
Updated Audio/Type Multimedia Module to High, also tried to revert back to Low with no joy.
Battery brand new and been fully charged today but not currently on charge (showing 12.1v)

You are meant to have a charger or tender when doing Ccf updates.
Stops you bricking something.
Basically the optical bus isn’t communicating as something on it is broke or bricked
Things on bus
Headunit
Display
Amp
Bluetooth (where fitted )

I made a mess of my first update many moons ago, firstly dont panic, I couldn't get the car started.
It may be worth emailing pat @ GAP for advice, I did this and he was able to reverse engineer my problem and sent me an update using the IID, ran that and all good again.
As they are in Canada they are 5hrs behind so you may be in luck tonight

Thanks for the tip and support Sea Raider, much appreciated!!!
Have just contacted Gap and see what they come back with... fingers crossed!
Also I read maybe a Hard Reset may do the trick??

If you are replacing the stereo you loose the display data anyway.
Unless you put the rear half of the headunit in the upper glovebox.
You also need some £250 wires to the amp under the seat

@ 12,1 V …. So it is completely empty!
12,7v is full, 12,1v = empty…
12v is deep cycle

GAP do not recommend a connecting a battery charger whist doing updates, they say it must be a 12v power supply, additional battery(jump leads) or just a fully charged battery.
The Iid tool checks the battery voltage before any update is performed, if there is not sufficient power in the battery the process will be aborted with a low battery warning.
A fully charged battery can be very quickly dis charged if doing several updates in the same session It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
