Yes, I enjoyed most of it but knowing the geography of back home it was a bit annoying the way they cut the final edit saying the tarmac runs out!
The main roads to the Zambian border (both Chirundu and Kariba) are both tarmac, albeit very very potholed at the moment!.
And the "coal area" is Hwange Colliery, not even on their route if they went across the Lake and then to Vic Falls! And Vic Falls Bridge is between Zim and Zambia, so I have no idea how they ended up crossing from the Zambian side to Zim....
Anyways, I suppose if you don't know then it doesn't harm you.
They have done a lot and I have enjoyed watching them.

Clarkson has always taken a contrary, aggressive approach throughout his career. It's kept him in the limelight at times when other, better, motoring journalists have just carried on being very good motoring journalists in relative obscurity.
Now that he has a farm, he's all over the terrible state of farming in the UK and how the Government needs to do more to help. Funny that.
But it's all part of a character that he has developed and honed over the years - as he has admitted in the past. I.e. he isn't the bloke people think he is.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Sorry but… what news! That's logical and it's not the only example. We all understand that everything is a television show, and that outside of that context, such an excessive and histrionic being has little place. It's logical that he has created his own character. I think that, ultimately, we all do that throughout our lives, and you can fool everyone, except your own mother of course, right? By the way, I've always liked the character, I find him very funny.lost in translation!

Clarkson is a divisive figure, there is no doubting that.
Personally I think he's good entertainment, but Clarkson isn’t real.
Jeremy Clarkson has always played a character in public to appeal to his target audience, and along the way probably found that character appeals to a wider audience than even he thought possible.
Good luck to him, it’s his job, and he’s done very well from it.
It’s just the same as Jim Moir playing Vic Reeves.
Vic is a funny but annoying Pr1ck.
Jim is an eloquent, intelligent, cultured guy.
Al Murry and the Pub Landlord, the list is endless.
Now with the farming thing I have more respect for the real Jeremy Clarkson than I did from him playing his character Clarkson.
I have a personal connection to the Farming community in the area he’s in, I know people very well who’ve worked with him on the project, and have a good insight into the project off-air. He’s brought the reality of Farming to the publics attention through playing his character Clarkson, and that can only be a good thing.
And yes, along the way he’s entertained a whole load of people.

I'm sure that his concerns about farming are real now that it is his way of life. Of course, he can afford to dabble in it because he's made good money elsewhere. But good for him for bringing the issues to a new audience.
I prefer Harry Metcalfe - a chap that farms nearby and is also a car nut (he set up evo magazine). Harry's Farm and Harry's Garage are both worthwhile youtube channels if one has an interest in farming and / or cars. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I hadn't realised how stunning Zimbabwe is. In my youth, a couple of retired colonial administrators would talk lovingly about Zimbabwe and Malawi and the people there. The 'bread basket of Africa', ruined by a zealot with a toothbrush moustache. A local vet hails from Zimbabwe and tells me that at independence, the life expectancy was over sixty. It subsequently dropped into the upper thirties...
Clarkson has done more for farming than anyone else I can think of. Gareth Wyn Jones comes second.

Yes, it is truly beautiful!
Unfortunately we currently have a drought in Southern Africa this year, with Zim and Zambia declaring a state of emergency. This is predominately due to "El Nino", so everything is very dry and brown and Lake Kariba at it's lowest levels for many many years.
Didn't realise that one of our crowd in Kariba had modified the boats for TGT for their "crossing" of the Lake. (apparently that was another story!)
He wasn't allowed to say anything or post photos until after the show had aired.
